Stretching from the quiet, rich lands of the Golden Delta to the bustling coastal trade cities of the Prosperous East, the Jade Empire has been a beacon of light and culture for centuries. More than a dozen dynasties have ruled since it was founded under the leadership of Emperor Sagacious Tien, and each has been more glorious than its predecessor. Not that the land is always peaceful, but the current emperor, Emperor Sun, has turned turmoil to harmony in the eyes of his people. Two Rivers barely registers on even the most detailed maps, but this small town seems destined to rise above its humble roots.... A town with a dark past, a cloud of shame, and a plague of vengeful spirits. The Golden Way houses the Imperial City's rich and noble families, and is the place where artists, musicians, and performers ply their trade to the amusement of the city's elite. Fighters from all over the Empire travel to the Imperial City to compete in the greatest contest in the land: the Imperial Arena. The Scholars' Garden is a place of study and debate, and is the source of many cultural and philosophical advancements. The Market District of the Imperial City is the bustling heart of the Jade Empire's economy. Rumor has it that the Great Southern Forest is overrun with ghosts and malevolent spirits, and that the trees themselves warp to trap unfortunates inside. The Quarry Caves are an ancient network of tunnels that run underground near the original site of Tien's Landing, and rumours tell of ghosts who lurk in the dark, stone corridors. The Necropolis is the resting place for the Imperial City's honored dead, including nobles, sages, and Emperors, and it crawls with evil spirits and the malevolent dead. Dirge is home to the fabled Spirit Monks. Once a temple of great power, it lies abandoned and forgotten among icy mountains. |
