Hallelujah! Finally somebody breaks the silence! It's not much really but at least it comes from Bioware and not from a friend of a friend of a gaming journalist. It doesn't even say if they'll make it for sure or not (who's "we", the art design guys, the programmers, the board of directors?!). In any event, probably (and unfortunately) won't be out before 2011, unless they're already working on it.

I wouldn't hold my breath, BW has their hands full with their existing projects.

yeah but aren't those existing project in existence for ages so to speak?
Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me, but it feels like forever since DA and SW have been announced...

ME will be a trilogy, TOR is a long time project, and DA will probably have at least expansion packs/DLC if not sequels.

It says it's a favorite and they'd like to go back to it. That's a far cry from coming out and saying, "We're making a JE sequel."

Of course they would love to revisit JE: vast amounts of time, energy and money went into the development of the IP. It would be great if ti could be leveraged into more than just a single game.

But - and this is just to play it safe, you understand - let's not hold our breath. As caradoc so sagely pointed out, BW's current projects are pretty ambitious. While this is certainly good to hear, it's not a confirmation.

Yes, yes, Bioware is busy with the Fabulous ME and other upcoming stuff, but I would buy an xbox 360 version or a sequel, or even anything JE related, such as comics, books, movies (see my thread!), etc.

While it will definitely take a couple years or more, at least Bioware has other awesome games we can play in the meantime. I love middle-ages kind of game, that is not the snoozefest Oblivion was. Can't wait for Dragon Age, but would LOVE to see a new Jade Empire

Would JE fans or BioWare be against revisiting it as a continent in Dragon Age?

I know I wouldn't mind that one bit. Making a fantasy martial art character in the Dragon Age sequel would be a mad dream come true.

Personally, I think that treating JE as the Mysterious East of Thedas would be a disservice to both IPs.

I'd rather see JE get the full, proper treatment rather than being tacked on to another project.
