Ok,
Just like the title says I only created this topic because I couldn't post a reply on the old one. One thing that amazed me is caradoc's playcount... Jeez, how did you manage that? U know, in a way I envy you I suppose. I tried both CF and OP, tried a few different characters and different choices. I even used one or two mods just to get another style. But no matter what I do or don't do I can't get past count 5 or 6 (save banging my head against the wall until I lose my memory, lol). No matter how much I like this game (and I do a lot, obviously) there's no fun when you know what to expect around each corner, know most character lines and subplots, etc. I wish there was a side quest/plot I never discovered, just to give me extra 5% of novelty for the next run... I can;t even seriously picture myself starting in two rivers again and having the same conversation with Smiling Mountain as if I never met the guy. So, how did you manage to keep it exciting? |

Sic Lord Yun to Pilgrim's Rest, take Wild Flower with you to the pirate isle or take Silk Fox to the assassin fortress.
In short: enjoy the variations.

There's always something different to be done. Play it through as both allignments, and bring different characters through each play. Stress different aspects of your character, like primarily magic or primarily weapons. Plus, I just like beating the crap out of people and enjoy fighting in the arena, but that's just me. |

I'm late to the party here, but this is good advice. I used to do "new" playthroughs that were just cosmetic changes; I'd pick 'evil' choices instead of 'good' or go left instead of right. But in spite of all that, I'd drag around the same NPCs because they were either my favourite or (in my view) "better". What a shame! The real fun and variety is to be had by mixing it up and going places with Followers who wouldn't be your first (or even second) choice. The results may surprise you! _________________ "Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines." - John BenfieldEdited By Iron Weasel on 10/28/09 15:46 |

True, but you can still keep one for support and another for attack, for example. Yeah, I know, almost everybody thinks they're all useless in combat mode, but I find a few of them (Chai Ka/Ya Zhen, Whirlwind, Death's Hand) at least semi-useful. On a side note, taking Wild flower to the pirate lair didn't do much for me... either interesting or funny, was that a joke caradoc? Overall I found Whirlwind's comments hillarious and refreshing, but other than that not much to write home about (and certainly not enough to justify another 24h run from start to end). I still haven't tried taking Stupid Fox uuhh... I mean Silk Fox to assassin's fortress though. I also wonder if Dawn Star turned to CF would whine less On a second side note, would be cool to have a mod that gives you the ravager as follower, or master li (lol). I wonder if that's even possible. |

uhm, i think I might have switched to her once we landed, but not before. She was quiet save 2-3 short lines, if my memory's right.
Now, to expand a bit on my previous crazy idea, it would be fun if you could not only add other NPC as followers, but romance them (Smiling Mountain, Grand Inquisitor Jia, etc).Edited By abramburici on 10/27/09 23:19 |

You would be crazy to romance Jia. there is evil and there is crazy. Romancing Jia would be both creepy and crazy. You have to realizing how old she is. |

So, you're okay with the idea of romancing Smiling Mountain? |

One of my favorite variations is taking Death's Hand as a follower when you are OP, only to let him go . . . _________________ My blades are yours to command ~Sky |
