Current known issues with Jade Empire: SE
- Jade Empire will allow players with ATI cards to set the game to widescreen. This is not recommended unless you have a widescreen monitor.
- There may be some graphical corruption with some ATI cards when Anti-Aliasing is turned on.
- Programs that change program focus, such as Microsoft Instant Messenger, can cause the game to minimize. In some places like movies, loading screens, and the mini-game flyer mission, this can cause problems. If you experience such problems, save the game, and restart Jade Empire PC.
- On minimum requirement systems the frame-rate may drop in areas with many opponents, using magic, while the user is in focus mode. If this occurs, turning the resolution down may fix the problem.
- The camera may point straight down. Saving and loading your game should resolve this (you may have to try this more then once).
- Commands bound to toggle buttons or switches on gamepads may cause conflicts with keyboard commands. If you run into this rebind the command from that button or swtich.
- Occasionally saved games will become corrupted after leaving a level.
- Occasionally encounters will not trigger properly due to timing issues. (i.e. Sir Roderick, The Workshop etc.) If this occurs try lowering the resolution as this will usually solve the issue and trigger the encounter.
Installer:
- The game installer displays 0 KB for size requirements and completes without installing the game but after creating shortcuts. In this case simply run the installer directly from the disk instead of through the Autorun. Click “Start” then “Run” then type (without quotes) “X:\setup.exe” (with X being the letter of your DVD drive) and press “OK”.
Controller Issues:
- The following issue may occur during the opening tutorial. If you have a controller plugged into your system but you are playing Jade Empire PC with your keyboard and mouse it is possible for you to see prompts for your controller instead of for the keyboard and mouse. This is because some controllers, Logitech Wingman is an example, can be constantly sending input to the game on one of it's slider or analog controls and this can trick the game into thinking you are using that controller. If you center all controls this issue may go away. The best solution is to only have the controller plugged in if you are planning to play the game using it.

Thanks for the list Jason if i might add the bug with the camera pointing straight down, I also found that if you exit the area and come back also works thou sometimes it might be a bit tricky . Take care for now. |

The previous poster is correct. Unfortunately, I would definitely say this bug occurs far more often than "very rarely." It gets very annoying on extended playthroughs. |

Most definantly more than it should. Also the totally being blocked out of vision by objects during fight sequences. One more thing that gets irritating is having to reset the brightness every single time I play the game. This should save like the rest of the settings! |

I'd like to add the savegame issue that's been reported a few times. After launching the game for the second time savegames get corrupted, cannot be loaded or disappear along with stages simply restarting when you leave them. |

I have a rather unique problem and I was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm in the Imperial City and I'm at the part where you are about to duel with Sir Roderick after your debate (in this case, I won the debate). As soon as the screen cuts away to the loading screen, and cuts back to the dueling ground, the graphics (as well as the control scheme and camera controls) mess up terribly. For instance, my character will not move in any direction but spinning around in circles until I press a button to change styles. Even after that, the character will only move if I double tap the key to evade and even still, the character moves in a random direction. If I transform into a demon style, I can move around freely, but I cannot attack and can no longer evade using double tap. I also cannot change back into my normal form after transforming using a demon style (Toad and Horse). Additionally, Sir Roderick simply stands stationary in about the middle of the grounds, making motions like he is in the middle of a conversation. I know this sounds rather strange, and probably not very believable, but has anyone encountered a problem like this? If it helps, I've also encountered the problem where the camera is pointed down and won't correct itself unless you leave the area or save and load the game.

Ironically I've run acrossed the Sir Roderick problem, and after deciding to skip it came across it again in the Assasins' Lair when you have to "train" Shin's men. |

This forum should cover the issue of not being able to see the mouse cursor at any resolutions below whatever X 900... For those of us who play on our HDTVs this is a big problem. Makes menu navigation almost impossible.
Hopefully this will be resolved in the first patch so I can play without pulling out my hair.
Cheers. |

I have a Pentium IV 3.4 Ghz, 2 Gigs RAM, HIS Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB, newest drivers! It can't be that I often have max fps of "5" during combat! I even deactivated "clamp fps". |

Yeaah gammadude87 that's a realy perfect description of my duel problem. My rig is a fairly new Dell, so I'm gonna guess this is wide spread problem. And aside from my character just endlessly turning about the "Hall" we are fighting in looks unlike any "normal" terain.
And as you stated the mouse gives you no control of your view. _________________ Death From Below! - Battle cry of The Clan Axepeak |

The roderick problem and AI not activating are timing related issues. Turn down your resolution and those areas should work. |
