Magic styles come in two main forms: spell styles, and transformation styles. Spell styles use the player's Chi for power, and allow him to launch long-ranged attacks that deal special damage types like fire and Chi drain. Transformation styles are special: they are "learned" by capturing the spirit of a defeated monster, and when triggered the character actually transforms into the form of this monster during combat.
